“They Are in Pain”: BJP’s Ravi Kishan Mocks Opposition After CM Yogi Showers Flowers on Kanwariyas
BJP MP and popular actor Ravi Kishan has taken a swipe at the Opposition, saying “they are in pain” after Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath showered flower petals on Kanwariyas during the ongoing Kanwar Yatra.
Speaking to the media, Ravi Kishan lauded CM Yogi’s gesture as a symbol of respect towards Hindu faith and culture. He said, “Yogi ji is a saint and a leader who respects our traditions. When he showers flowers on Kanwariyas, it’s a message of love and devotion. The Opposition cannot tolerate this—wo log jale hue hain, they are in pain.”
The remarks come amid a political row over the annual Kanwar Yatra, which sees lakhs of Shiva devotees (Kanwariyas) travel on foot to collect holy Ganga water. Opposition leaders have accused the BJP of politicizing religious sentiments and diverting attention from real issues.
However, BJP leaders have strongly defended the move, with Ravi Kishan stating that “respecting faith is not politics, it’s part of our culture.” He further added that the BJP government has ensured smooth and safe conduct of the yatra, which reflects good governance.
As visuals of CM Yogi Adityanath showering petals from a helicopter went viral, the political debate over religion, symbolism, and public perception continues to intensify in Uttar Pradesh ahead of upcoming elections.
