PRAMOD BORO ON UPPL-BPF UNIFICATION & BTR PEACE
Tamulpur, July 29
Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) Chief Executive Member Pramod Boro today responded to recent statements made by former BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary regarding a potential unification between UPPL and BPF. Speaking to reporters after the inauguration of the newly built Srimanta Sankardev Auditorium in Tamulpur, Boro emphasized the need for visionary thinking and a sincere mindset to solve the issues of the Boro community.
“I had extended a similar call last year while I was still with the ABSU, but that unification did not materialize. The problem with Hagrama Mohilary is that what he says one day, he forgets the next,” said Boro.
He asserted that while BPF failed to establish peace, harmony, and security in BTR in its 17-year rule, the UPPL-led administration has succeeded in building such an environment within just five years. “Even if there are differences within parties, we will continue to practice the politics that contributes to society-building,” he added.
The remarks came following the inauguration of the much-awaited air-conditioned public auditorium in Tamulpur, a long-standing demand of the local people. Boro graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, and the event was held in a festive and enthusiastic atmosphere.
