Massive Arms Recovery in Manipur: Security Forces Seize 155 Weapons, 39 IEDs, and Over 1,600 Rounds of Ammunition

 

Imphal, July 28:

In a significant breakthrough amid the ongoing security operations in Manipur, security forces have recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition from Kuki-dominated districts. The operation, carried out over the past several days, resulted in the seizure of:

 

155 sophisticated weapons

39 Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs)

13 hand grenades

1,652 rounds of live ammunition

 

According to officials, these recoveries were made as part of an intensified search operation aimed at restoring peace and law and order in the violence-affected regions. The seized arms are suspected to have been used in recent incidents of unrest.

 

The Manipur Police confirmed the operation and shared visuals of the seized items. A senior police officer stated that efforts are underway to trace the origins of the weapons and identify those responsible for stockpiling them.

 

This major recovery is seen as a step forward in the state’s efforts to dismantle militant infrastructure and prevent further violence. Authorities have urged the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and report any suspicious activities.
