Marathon Race to be Held in Tamulpur
*Tamulpur, 26 June, 2025* :
Today, District Commissioner of Tamulpur, Pankaj Chakravarty, announced in a press conference at the District Commissioner’s Office that a state-level half-marathon race will be organized on 29th June. Titled “Run for Happiness”, the 21-kilometre race will commence at 6 AM from the Mela Chowk bus stop in Darranga.
The event is being supported by Assam Police, SM Group, and Smile Asia, among others. The District Commissioner stated, “Drugs and substance abuse have become a major challenge for today’s society. This marathon is being organized as a public awareness initiative to fight against it.”
The competition, open to both men and women, will feature 10 prizes with a total value of up to ₹1 lakh. Over 100 participants from various parts of Assam have already registered online. The event is recognized by the Assam Athletics Association, and the District Commissioner has encouraged participation from all, including school students.
