
Lions Club of Silchar Valley View Pays Tribute on Kargil Vijay Diwas

With great pride and reverence, the ‘Lions Club of Silchar Valley View’ solemnly observed Kargil Vijay Diwas to honor the indomitable courage and supreme sacrifice of Indian soldiers who laid down their lives during the Kargil War of 1999.
Under the leadership of Club President Bandita Tribedi Roy, a team from the club visited the Kargil Vijay Smarak at Tarapur. There, they paid floral tributes at the memorial site, offering their heartfelt homage to the martyrs. The air was filled with solemnity as club members stood in silence to remember the brave hearts who made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation.
Following the tribute, a commemorative gathering was held where the members reflected on the valor and patriotism of the Indian soldiers. They recalled the heroic stories of the 1999 conflict, emphasizing how the Indian Army, in the face of severe challenges, launched a valiant counterattack against intruding Pakistani forces and reclaimed the occupied territory. The operation culminated in a resounding victory for India and remains a shining chapter in the country’s military history.
Among the distinguished personalities present at the event were Project Chairperson Subir Dey, Minara Laskar, Pushpabati Roy, and Guiding Lion Sanjeev Roy, who also paid their respects and reiterated the importance of remembering such sacrifices to inspire future generations.
