On March 23, 2025, two personnel from the Special Task Force (STF) of the Chhattisgarh police sustained injuries due to an improvised explosive device (IED) blast triggered by Naxalites in Bijapur district. The incident occurred around 5:45 PM near the Gorla rivulet under the Madded police station limits. The STF team was returning in a pick-up vehicle after conducting an anti-Naxalite operation when the explosion took place.
According to officials, the Naxalites detonated the IED in an attempt to target the vehicle; however, the blast occurred at a slight distance from it. As a result, two STF personnel experienced injuries due to the shockwaves from the explosion.
This incident underscores the ongoing challenges faced by security forces in the region, as they continue operations against Naxalite insurgents.
