Two Accused Killed in Disha Patani House Firing Case, UP ADG Reveals Chilling Details

Lucknow/Bareilly, Sept 18: In a dramatic turn in the investigation into the firing outside actor Disha Patani’s ancestral home in Bareilly, two prime accused have been shot dead in an encounter in Ghaziabad. Uttar Pradesh ADG (Law and Order) Amitabh Yash has confirmed their gang links and revealed chilling details about the motive behind the attack.

According to police, the accused — Ravindra alias “Kallu” of Rohtak and Arun of Sonipat — were members of the Goldy Brar–Rohit Godara gang. They were intercepted during a joint operation by the UP STF, Delhi Police Special Cell and Haryana STF in Tronica City on Tuesday night. Both men sustained bullet injuries in the gunfight and later died in hospital. Four policemen were also injured in the exchange of fire.

ADG Yash said the gang’s “main aim was to spread fear,” targeting a high-profile family to send a message. He confirmed that the shooters used foreign-made weapons, firing 8–10 rounds, including aerial shots, outside the Patani residence. Disha’s father, retired DSP Jagdish Patani, and family members were inside at the time of the attack.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has personally called the Patani family, assuring them of their safety and directing police to take strict action. Investigators are now tracing the supply chain of the weapons used and identifying other gang operatives involved in the plot.

Authorities say while the immediate threat has been neutralized, the case highlights the growing reach of interstate criminal gangs and their attempts to intimidate through targeted violence.
