Swift Action by EGPD and Basistha Police Solves Kanaklata Path Burglary Case

 

Guwahati, July 28:

In a major breakthrough, the East Guwahati Police District (EGPD) team from Basistha Police Station has successfully cracked the Kanaklata Path burglary case. Acting on swift investigation, technological surveillance, and credible local intelligence, police conducted a targeted raid at a residence in Kerakuchi near the Hockey Stadium.

 

During the operation, three notorious burglars were apprehended. The arrested individuals have been identified as:

 

1. Sofial Ali (21), a resident of Dhubri

 

 

2. Rupchand Ali (21), hailing from Goroimari

 

 

3. Ashadul Khan (21), from Hatigaon

 

 

 

The raid led to the recovery of a substantial cache of stolen property. The list of seized items includes:

 

6 Brass Glasses

 

1 Gold-Coloured, Flower-Shaped Tealight Holder

 

1 Bell Metal Bota

 

1 Traditional Nepali Kukri

 

1 Cycle Rickshaw allegedly used in committing the crime

 

1 Redmi Xiaomi Mobile Phone

 

1 Brass Bowl and 16 Silver Plates

 

1 Pressure Cooker and multiple steel/aluminium utensils

 

1 Welding Machine, 2 Water Pumps, and 1 Grinder

 

30 Water Taps and 5 Kg of Copper Wire

 

 

Upon interrogation, all three accused confessed to their involvement in the Kanaklata Path burglary. They further admitted to committing several other thefts across various parts of Guwahati.

 

Legal proceedings have been initiated against the culprits, and further investigations are underway to identify any additional accomplices or linked incidents.

 

The EGPD’s prompt response and coordination with Basistha PS stand as yet another testament to the city police’s commitment to public safety and crime prevention.
