
Spain’s capital Madrid — a powerful explosion has rocked the city, leaving around 25 people injured. At least two of them are said to be in serious condition.
The blast took place at around 3 p.m. local time in the Puente de Vallecas district inside a three-story building. Preliminary reports suggest the cause of the explosion could be a gas leak, though authorities are still investigating.
Firefighters rushed to the scene and managed to rescue four people trapped under the rubble. The impact of the blast damaged several nearby properties, including a café, a store, and parts of the surrounding building. The entire structure has since been evacuated over safety concerns.
The explosion left 25 people injured, with two to three of them in critical condition. Some victims are said to be very seriously affected.
Emergency services, including fire brigades and medical teams, responded immediately. Police and investigators are now working to determine the exact cause of the blast and whether any safety violations may have been involved.
