🇷🇺 Russia’s Overnight Missile Barrage Hits Ukraine: Buildings Collapse, Infrastructure Damaged, Several Injured

In one of the most intense overnight assaults in recent weeks, Russia launched a series of missile and drone attacks across multiple Ukrainian cities, resulting in widespread damage and several civilian injuries. Ukrainian officials described the assault as a “brutal escalation,” while vowing a strong retaliatory response.
The barrage began late Saturday night and continued into the early hours of Sunday. According to Ukraine’s Air Force, dozens of missiles and Shahed drones were fired towards critical infrastructure targets and residential areas in Kyiv, Dnipro, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia.

A residential building in Dnipro collapsed after a direct missile hit, trapping people under rubble.
In Kyiv, several energy infrastructure sites were hit, causing temporary blackouts in parts of the capital.
Kharkiv’s railway depot and Zaporizhzhia’s communication network suffered extensive damage.
At least 24 civilians were reported injured, including children, and rescue operations are still ongoing.
Ukraine’s Interior Ministry stated, “Russia’s deliberate targeting of civilian infrastructure is a war crime. We are working to restore essential services and help the injured.”
Despite the damage, Ukrainian air defense claimed to have intercepted the majority of the incoming threats, highlighting the effectiveness of newly received Western air-defense systems.
🎙️ Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the attack, calling it another example of “Russia’s desperation and disregard for human life.” He added that the international community must step up pressure on Moscow with tighter sanctions and urgent military aid.
Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed responsibility, saying the attacks were aimed at “military targets and weapons depots,” a claim Ukraine strongly denies.
As the war grinds into another summer, the scale and intensity of such attacks are rising again, with both sides digging in for what may be a long conflict ahead.
