*Road Safety Awareness Campaign Conducted in Tamulpur*

*Tamulpur, July 2, 2025* :

The Tamulpur District Administration and the Transport Department, in collaboration with the SSB (Sashastra Seema Bal), today organized road safety counseling programs at three key locations― Motonga Chowk, Nagrijuli College Chowk, and near Rising Star Academy (Bahbari) in Kumarikata.

The main themes of the campaign were― wearing helmets while riding two-wheelers, using seat belts while driving four wheeler, avoiding the use of mobile phones while operating vehicles, refraining from driving under the influence of alcohol, and maintaining appropriate speed limits.

Special emphasis was placed on the critical importance of helmet use while riding two-wheelers. The drivers were sensitized about how a road accident could lead to devastating consequences for their families in the absence of safety precautions.

Instead of imposing fines on today’s traffic rule violators, the authorities opted for awareness-oriented counseling. However, it was clearly stated that future violations would result in definite penalties. As per existing rules, failure to wear a helmet can invite a fine of up to ₹1,000.

At the Motonga Chowk venue, District Commissioner Pankaj Chakravarty, Senior Superintendent of Police Diganta Kumar Choudhury, District Transport Officer Stuti Parashar, Transport Inspector Kuldeep Barman, and SSB officials were present.

At Kumarikata, the program was conducted in association with the 24th Battalion SSB “G” Company stationed at Gaidang Chowk, with the participation of ASI C.K. Musahari and Transport Officer Rik Ranjan Das.

Meanwhile, at Nagrijuli, the program saw the presence of Diganta Deka, Inspector from the Baksa Transport Department; Officer-in-Charge of Nagrijuli Police Outpost, Susen Das; and Birendra Singh, Patrol Commander of 24th Battalion SSB “E” Company, Guwabari, along with police and SSB personnel.

The simultaneous conduct of road safety counseling at all three locations was widely appreciated by the local public, who commended the efforts of the District Administration, Transport Department, and the SSB for successfully raising awareness on suc a crucial issue.
