Op Sindhu: IAF’s C-17 Reaches Delhi After Evacuating Indians from Israel Amid Middle East Tensions

New Delhi, 24 June:

In a swift and strategic operation named ‘Op Sindhu’, the Indian Air Force (IAF) successfully evacuated Indian nationals from Israel amid escalating tensions in the Middle East. The IAF’s C-17 Globemaster aircraft carrying the evacuees landed safely at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi on Monday morning.

The evacuation comes in the wake of rising hostilities and volatile conditions in the region following fresh confrontations involving Israel. With the safety of Indian citizens as the top priority, the Government of India coordinated closely with Israeli authorities and deployed military assets for a quick and secure evacuation.

According to officials, the C-17 aircraft airlifted a group of Indian nationals, including students, workers, and tourists who had been stranded in various parts of Israel. Medical teams and security personnel were also on board to ensure the well-being of the evacuees during the flight.

Union Minister for External Affairs Dr. S. Jaishankar lauded the IAF and the Indian Embassy in Tel Aviv for their prompt and coordinated action. “Every Indian life matters. Operation Sindhu is a reflection of our government’s unwavering commitment to protect its citizens, wherever they are,” he said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

Families of the evacuees expressed relief and gratitude upon their arrival. Several passengers praised the government’s timely response, with one student stating, “We were living in constant fear. This flight brought us home to safety.”

As the situation in the Middle East continues to develop, Indian authorities are closely monitoring conditions and may initiate further evacuations if required.
