Middle East War escalates: Yemen launches attack in Jerusalem; Israeli army intercepts missile
In a significant escalation of the Middle East conflict, Yemen’s Houthi rebels launched a missile targeting Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv. The Israeli military intercepted the missile, marking the third such attack within 48 hours. The Houthis warned airlines that the airport is “no longer safe for air travel” until Israeli operations in Gaza cease and the blockade is lifted.
Concurrently, Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip have resulted in at least 85 Palestinian deaths, including a month-old baby girl rescued from the rubble. Hamas responded by firing rockets into Israel, effectively ending the ceasefire that had paused the 17-month war. The Israeli military has also retaken part of the Netzarim Corridor in Gaza, aiming to pressure Hamas into releasing hostages and relinquishing control.
These developments have intensified regional tensions, with fears of a broader conflict escalating. The international community continues to monitor the situation closely, urging all parties to exercise restraint and seek peaceful resolutions.
