*Meeting on Financial Assistance for Tea Garden Workers Held in Tamulpur*

A meeting was convened today at the office chamber of the Tamulpur District Commissioner under the leadership of District Commissioner Pankaj Chakravarty, ACS, to discuss the implementation of the Assam Government’s flagship scheme, “Mukhyamantrir Eti Kali Duti Paat”. The discussion focused on ensuring effective execution of the scheme for workers of Menaka and Nagrijuli tea gardens in Tamulpur district. As outlined in the meeting, the initial phase will include the verification of three key criteria— Whether the worker is a permanent resident of Assam, Whether the individual is currently employed at one of the two tea gardens, and Whether the worker’s bank account is linked to their Aadhaar number. District Commissioner Pankaj Chakravarty instructed concerned officials to complete the verification process promptly. Once verified, each eligible worker will be provided with a form to fill out. After submission, the forms will be uploaded online, and verified beneficiaries will receive a financial grant of ₹5,000 directly into their bank accounts. It is noteworthy that over 2,100 tea garden workers are currently employed in the Menaka and Nagrijuli tea estate. Today’s meeting was attended by Additional Commissioner Dr. Dipankar Nath, Assistant Commissioner Kabita Phangcho, Labour Inspector of Kokrajhar Navjeevan Basumatary, managers of the two tea gardens, and other key officials.
