Kargil Vijay Diwas Observed in Silchar with Patriotic Fervor
Silchar, July 26, 2025:
Kargil Vijay Diwas was commemorated across Silchar on Saturday through a series of solemn and patriotic events organized by various local groups and organizations.
Marking the 26th anniversary of India’s historic victory in the 1999 Kargil War, representatives from multiple organizations gathered at the Kargil Shahid Smarak located in Silchar’s E&D Colony. They offered floral tributes and paid heartfelt homage to the brave soldiers who laid down their lives for the motherland.
The observance was further enriched with patriotic songs, cultural performances, and speeches that evoked national pride and honored the spirit of sacrifice. The events aimed to instill a deeper sense of patriotism, especially among the youth.
Addressing the gathering, Silchar MLA Dipayan Chakraborty and BJP District President Rupam Saha highlighted the significance of the day. They recalled how the Indian Army achieved a decisive victory over Pakistani intruders in 1999, bringing an end to the Kargil conflict.
“This day remains eternally memorable for every Indian,” said MLA Chakraborty. “We bow our heads in deep respect to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation.” BJP leader Rupam Saha echoed the sentiment, adding that the legacy of Kargil will continue to inspire generations to come.
The day concluded with a collective pledge to uphold the values of unity, courage, and service to the nation.
