
Haryana CM Commemorates Birth Anniversary of Baba Lakkhi Shah Vanjara Ji
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar paid tribute to Baba Lakkhi Shah Vanjara Ji on his birth anniversary, honouring his unparalleled contribution and sacrifice in Sikh history.
Speaking at the commemorative event, CM Khattar highlighted Baba Lakkhi Shah Vanjara’s act of supreme bravery, recalling how he recovered the mortal remains of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the ninth Sikh Guru, after his martyrdom in Delhi. In an extraordinary act of devotion, Baba Lakkhi Shah Vanjara set fire to his own home to cremate the Guru’s body and protect it from desecration by Mughal forces.
The Chief Minister said Baba Lakkhi Shah Vanjara’s selfless sacrifice and courage continue to inspire generations. He reiterated the Haryana government’s commitment to preserving and promoting the legacy of such heroes who laid down their lives to uphold faith, dignity, and humanity.
CM Khattar also emphasized the need to educate the youth about such legendary figures, stating that they are pillars of our spiritual and cultural heritage. The event witnessed participation from community leaders, Sikh devotees, and state officials, who paid floral tributes and shared messages of reverence.
The program concluded with prayers, kirtans, and a renewed pledge to carry forward the values of sacrifice, unity, and service exemplified by Baba Lakkhi Shah Vanjara Ji.
