*Cyber Security Workshop Held in Tamulpur*
*Tamulpur, 29 July 2025* : A cyber security awareness workshop was held on 28th July at the auditorium of Tamulpur College, Bornagar, Tamulpur. The event was organized by “CUTS International” in collaboration with the Office of the Assistant Director of Industries & Commerce, Tamulpur and supported by The Asia Foundation.
The workshop featured CUTS International’s project associates Pratyush Banerjee and Shubham Ghosh as key resource person. They raised awareness about the risks of online financial transactions and how citizens can protect themselves from falling victim to cyber fraud. They provided detailed insights into how to secure business data and financial transactions, as well as steps to take if one becomes a target of cybercrime.
Additional Superintendent of Police of Tamulpur district Joopi Bordoloi, Assistant Commissioner Kabita Phangcho and Principal of Tamulpur College Dr. Jogen Boro also addressed the gathering with their valuable remarks.
More than a hundred participants including officials from the Department of Industries & Commerce led by Assistant Director Dibyajyoti Das, entrepreneurs from the micro and small enterprise sector, members of the Assam State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ASRLM) and beneficiaries of the Chief Minister’s Atmanirbhar Asom Abhiyan attended the event, as informed by Sub-Divisional Information & Public Relations Officer Bijoy Bezbaruah.
