Bobby Deol & Cast Praise Aryan Khan’s Netflix Debut The Ba*ds of Bollywood

Mumbai: Anticipation is running high for Aryan Khan’s upcoming Netflix series The Ba*ds of Bollywood, and members of the star-studded cast are opening up about their experiences working under the debutant director.

Veteran actor Bobby Deol, who plays Ajay Talwar in the series, said he was so keen to collaborate with Aryan that he was ready to accept the role without even hearing the script. “When Aryan approached me, I immediately said yes. But he insisted on narrating the story, and I was very impressed with his vision,” Deol revealed.

Deol praised Aryan for his calm demeanor on set and his ability to get the best out of actors. “Despite being young, Aryan carried himself like a seasoned professional. He knew exactly what he wanted, and he pushed us to deliver our finest performances,” he said. The actor also joked that Aryan’s quest for perfection often meant multiple retakes and long hours, but added that the results were worth it.

Beyond his directorial skills, Deol credited Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan for raising Aryan with the grounding necessary to navigate Bollywood. “Hats off to his upbringing. He is talented, composed, and respectful — qualities that shine through in his work,” he remarked.

The series, billed as a satirical and self-aware take on the film industry, features a large ensemble cast including Lakshya Lalwani, Sahher Bambba, Mona Singh, Anya Singh, Raghav Juyal, and Manoj Pahwa, with special appearances by Shah Rukh Khan and other big names.

Exploring both the glitter and the grit of Bollywood, the show promises to delve into the dreams, struggles, and harsh realities of those chasing stardom. Deol believes the narrative will resonate with audiences: “It’s entertaining, but it also reflects the truth of the industry.”

The Ba*ds of Bollywood premieres on September 18 on Netflix, marking Aryan Khan’s much-watched entry into filmmaking.
