Among top Parliament Attendees” — Kiren Rijiju hails PM Modi’s work ethic

High attendance record

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi as one of the MPs with the highest attendance. He highlighted that PM Modi consistently attends House proceedings—especially Question Hour sessions tied to his Ministry—unless he’s abroad or on official duty in another state .

Opposition’s criticism addressed

Rijiju rebuked the Opposition’s push demanding Modi’s constant presence, calling it “against established norms” and “unfair.” He clarified that this practice ignores the conventional system where any relevant Minister answers queries during Question Hour .

All-party meeting before Monsoon Session

Ahead of the session (starting July 21 to August 21, with 21 sittings), Rijiju chaired a constructive meeting involving 51 parties and 54 leaders. He emphasized collaborative efforts to ensure smooth and productive House functioning .

Legislative agenda & openness

The government expressed readiness to debate major national and international issues—like Operation Sindoor and U.S. ceasefire claims by Trump—while maintaining parliamentary decorum .
