Acting on reliable intelligence, a team from the East Guwahati Police District (EGPD), Basistha Police Station, successfully apprehended two notorious thieves in the 8th Mile area late last night.
The arrested individuals have been identified as 27-year-old Shahid Marbaning alias Pai from Nongpoh and 20-year-old Mofidul Ali from Krishnai.
During the operation, police recovered a Hero Glamour motorcycle bearing registration number AS01DP3314 along with five stolen mobile phones from their possession.
Both the accused are now in police custody, and officials have confirmed that legal proceedings against them have already been initiated. Police sources stated that this arrest is part of their ongoing crackdown on theft and other criminal activities in the city.
Authorities have also appealed to the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement by promptly reporting any suspicious activities in their localities.
