Chief Minister of Assam Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi today. During the meeting, CM Sarma briefed the Prime Minister on Assam’s progress across multiple sectors, including infrastructure development, social welfare initiatives, and economic growth.
CM Sarma expressed gratitude for the continuous support from the central government and highlighted the rapid strides Assam has taken under the double-engine government model. Discussions also included future projects aimed at boosting connectivity, education, and employment opportunities in the region.
Importantly, CM Sarma also informed the media that Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to visit Assam on September 8, a visit eagerly awaited by the people of the state. “The people of Assam are excited and looking forward to welcoming our beloved Prime Minister,” Dr. Sarma stated after the meeting.
