Tamulpur: Dumper Trapped in Rising Waters of Kalanadi River
Tamulpur’s Kumarikata witnessed a dramatic incident when a dumper truck got stranded midstream in the Kalanadi river following a sudden rise in water levels.
According to reports, heavy rainfall in the Bhutan hills caused the river’s water level to increase rapidly, leading to the vehicle being trapped in the strong current. The dumper had entered the river to wash when the sudden surge left it stuck.
Fortunately, both the driver and the handyman managed to reach the riverbank safely, narrowly escaping a major accident.
The Kalanadi river, flowing down from the Bhutan hills, often swells dangerously during heavy rainfall, posing serious risks to nearby areas and those crossing its waters.
