
RPF of NFR sizedContraband Items (Ganja) worth above Rs 6.20 Lacs
Also apprehended 03 females & one male involved in its Smuggling

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of N.F. Railway has intensified its drives against smuggling of contraband items. In the past few days, RPF teams carried out several successful operations across different locations under NFR, resulting in the recovery of approximately 59 kgs of ganja worth above Rs. 6.20 lacs. The RPF teams also apprehended several individualsassociated withthe smuggling of these contraband items.
The RPF team of Kamakhya post, on 9th September, 2025, during regular check and drive at the station, apprehended a person and seized contraband goods (Ganja). The seized item valued approximately around Rs. 60,000.00, weighing nearly around 6kgs. Later, the seized goods alongwith the apprehended person was handed over to GRP/Guwahati for further necessary action.
On 8th September, 2025, a joint team of RPF alongwith Dog Squad and GRP of Agartala Post, recovered 27 kgs of unclaimed ganja from a coach panel stationed at Agartala yard. The seized consignment valued approximately around Rs. 2.70 lakhs. The seized item was later handed over to GRP/Agartala for further disposal under law.
Similarly, on 7th September, 2025, in another major operation, RPF team of Dimapur recovered around 16.4 kg of unclaimed Ganja that worth approximately around Rs. 1.64 lakhs from B4 compartment of T/no. 15946. Later the seized Ganja was handed over to GRP/Diphu for further course of action. On the same day at Agartala, a team of RPF jointly with Dog Squad and GRP apprehended two women passengers with a total recovery of 4.69 kgs of ganja, valued at about Rs. 88,400.00. The apprehended females alongwith the seized ganja was handed over to GRP/Agartala for necessary action.
On 6th September, 2025, RPF team at Agartala, alongwith Dog Squad and GRP, apprehended a woman at Agartala railway station with 4.180 kgs of ganja worth approximately Rs. 41,800.00. The contraband was seized during a routine check and the accused was later handed over to the GRP/Agartala for further legal action.
