1st Annual Conference of Association of Retired N.F. Railway Sportspersons held

The 1st Annual Conference of the Association of Retired N.F. Railway Sportspersons was held at N.F. Railway Indoor Stadium, Maligaon on 22nd December, 2024 in a befitting manner with the theme ‘Sports Persons Retired; Sportsmen Spirit Never.’

The program kicked off with a morning Walkathonalong witha theme song that was written and composed by Sri Debasish Bhattacharjee, a renowned musician of Assam. The Walkathon was flagged off by renowned sports personalities Tayabun Nisha, Chandan Sengupta, Abdul Barek and President Pradip Hajarika of the organisations who once represents N. F. Railway in various sports categories.

Felicitation of all the renowned sports personnel representing N. F. Railway was done who graced the occasion by their presence. Around 120 sportspersons from different field of excellence attended the function. Some senior sports personalities who are more than 80 years old also have been felicitated. 

 

The program was graced by the presence of Shri Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, General Manager, Northeast Frontier Railwaywith other senior officials. The General Manager appreciated the initiative taken by the association and assured to support further such positive initiatives.

 

The program ended with acultural program by local artists followed by a camp fire.N. F. Railway is the first zonal Railway where the retired sportspersons took initiatives todeliver their expertise for the upliftment of sporting fraternity of Railways.
