In a significant boost to agricultural exports from the Northeast, a premium consignment of Meghalaya pineapples was flagged off today from Shillong to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The event was graced by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Shri Conrad K. Sangma, who flagged off the shipment, marking a major milestone in promoting the state’s high-quality horticultural produce on the global stage.

 

These pineapples, grown by farmers across Meghalaya, are known for their rich sweetness, low acidity, and juicy texture, making them a preferred choice in international markets.

 

Speaking at the event, CM Conrad Sangma highlighted the state’s vision to empower farmers through market linkages and global trade opportunities. He emphasized the government’s continued efforts to enhance value chains and support sustainable agriculture.
